Haworth Steampunk Weekend October 2025

In October I decided to visit the Haworth Steampunk weekend again, probably one of the better Steampunk weekends on the UK calendar. It takes place twice a year and Haworth is a great place to host it as the town has the old fashioned look and feeling and there are lots of interesting shops and places to act as backgrounds for your portraits. In my opinion it’s so much better than another Steampunk weekend that takes place nearby, the Hebdon Bridge Steampunk weekend.

One slight downside of hosting the event in an attractive town like Haworth is that the accommodation can be expensive. In the past I have decided to stay nearby in places like Bradford and drive in to the event. For 2025 however I booked a cheap room at the local YHA Haworth youth hostel. Usually in October it only allows group sole use booking of the entire hostel but if the weekend does not sell to a group booking I suspect they start releasing the beds to anyone. The youth hostel proved to be a decent option for the weekend but it’s not exactly in the heart of the town.

The weekend turned out to be quite productive in terms of capturing portraits of people attending. The following is just a small selection of my images.

Haworth Steampunk Weekend 2026

Those of you who are thinking about attending the Haworth Steampunk weekend in 2026 these are the dates for the two events:

2nd-3rd May 2026
10th-11th Octocer 2026

I probably won’t make it to the May event as it takes place over the bank holiday and there are so many different events on the same weekend, including the Portmeirion Steampunk Weekend and the Liverpool Comic Con. I will however definately attend the Haworth Steampunk Weekend that takes place in October.
